Background
Ms. Cummings has 30 years of experience in franchising, licensing, marketing, sales and corporate management. She has established, managed and grown six diverse businesses and provided guidance to many others. Ms. Cummings is a skilled negotiator with hands-on experience in the method of franchise expansion.
In her law practice she advises, counsels and represents businesses and individuals as franchise counsel in related transactional matters. She is experienced in preparing regulatory documents including franchise offering circulars and various franchise agreements. Based on Ms. Cummings' knowledge of franchising, she has provided expert witness testimony regarding federal franchise law compliance. Her clients provide a wide spectrum of products and services including advertising, automotive, children's products and services, computer services, drycleaning, health/fitness, home and business maintenance, personnel/recruitment, publishing, retail food service, quick serve and full serve restaurants, sports related products and services and many others.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms Cummings was a license and franchise developer, which has equipped her with practical insight into a wide variety of franchise and business issues. As president of Cummings Business Development, Ms. Cummings provided business and franchise development services for companies seeking to expand. Services included franchise development planning and implementation, preparation of operations manuals; marketing and promotional materials and programs; advertising; franchisee training programs; ongoing franchisor/franchisee negotiation and mediation.
Preceding her work at Cummings Business Development, Ms. Cummings provided new product licensing and marketing services to corporations, universities and individuals. During this time, she created a quarterly newsletter focusing on product and intellectual property licensing issues.
